Dear All,
We have our first lesson yesterday. I was very happy that (some of) you engaged actively in discussion. I do hope that you will continue to try your best to read more and to engage more in discussion. Below I am giving you the link to the slideshow i used in class yesterday should any of you want to save the digital version and also for those who are not yet have a copy. Do print it out so you will always have a copy to access anytime of the day and please bring it to class too.
We will continue the slide next week. In the mean time, Make sure you discuss the questions in the slide and incorporate that into your Personal Reflection which will need to be on my desk the day after class every week.
Several Notes on class rules:
- You are allowed a 10 minutes late time. After 10 minutes don't bother coming or knocking or pleading to be allowed in. Unless you have my permission beforehand.
- When you see the door being closed and it is not 10 minutes passed yet... please do not knock. Just open the door and come in. Knocking after 1 O'Clock (when I have already started) disturb the class.
- ALL of you need to be a member at my Edmodo class group. Please go to www.edmodo.com and be a member. Put the group code zvpmu3 in your membership form where it will take you directly to the class group. Remember use the same name as your attendance list.
- Deadline for becoming a Member at my Edmodo Class group is only until Wednesday, 14 October 2015. After that the system will lock down and you cannot be a member which in turn makes you unable to follow class quiz etc.
- Some of my assignment and quizes will be done online at Edmodo. Thus to make sure you have your grades... please be a member
Language and Linguistic
Some interesting articles related to it for your reading, and personal reflection are as follows:
Design Features of Language (PDF)
Human Language and Animal Communication
Do find other reputable and accountable article and website where you can learn more about these issues. Then if you can, share it to the class next week.
Thank you and have fun learning
